About

I hold a Ph.D. in music theory and musicology, with an emphasis in piano from Florida State University and BYU. I am an experienced choral director and a good organist. I include some organ training with my piano lessons. I have taught music theory and music history at several colleges. My students often win superior ratings at UHSAA piano competitions. I am a serious musician and a serious teacher (with a good sense of humor). I provide first-rate instruction, but, of course, students must practice regularly to take advantage of that instruction.

I love music (especially classical music) and I enjoy working with students. I am a career teacher. I have taught music in high school and college. I enjoy knowing that my students recieve first rate instruction, and I love watching (and hearing) them progress.

$55 per hour at the moment, but friends tell me that is too low, so I may raise it in the future sometime.

I have been a professional teacher all of my life.  I play well and hold degrees in music theory and musicology.  And because I discovered that, contrary to what I supposed, I enjoy teaching.
