Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Determine at what level of skill they have, what type of cooking they are interested in learning. Based on these two things, I create a lesson plan specific to their needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a home cook with over 35 years of cooking and learning. I am constantly learning new techniques, skills and styles of cooking because I love to cook!
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Hourly rate of $75, plus the cost of any ingredients I provide. Rate will be adjusted based on specific needs of clients.
How did you get started teaching?
A friend asked me to teach her the way I cook. I am currently working on a cookbook, based on those experiences.
What types of students have you worked with?
From beginners to advanced. My speciality is to take you from depending on a recipe to using your imagination. To discover new tastes and expand your spice/herb cabinet.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for someone who you feel comfortable with and trust. Then you can relax and enjoy the process, which is what is important!
