I offer a complete music education.

• Practice and memorization techniques.

• Students acquired skills needed for performance.

• Self-confidence and Motivational techniques

• I am personally available to students seven days per week for additional help, lessons, or any extra questions.

• I offer valuable theory lessons. If more than one in the family, one can do theory while the other has piano. Very effective

• I give periodic theory exams (for those interested)

MUSIC NOTES emailed / logged after each lesson to provide guidance for the week. Practice is required.

We can meet for a free trial lesson, and decide if we are a match. References if you wish.

My joy is sharing my love of music with my students.

Email me your thoughts. Ask questions.

I enjoy watching my students progress not only in their ability to study, learn and make music, but to create and appreciate all the different genres of music in the world.

Frequently asked questions

1. Get to know what my students goals and aspirations are.
2. How much time do they have to dedicate to the art of learning piano?
3. As a professional pianist and singer, I love to show my students how the "final product" can sound like with a little work and commitment.

I received my music education degree from Shenandoah University. (Formerly called Shenandoah College and Conservatory)

I was a former Fairfax County music teacher for over 13 years.

I am Music Director of the Protestant Community at Quantico Marine Base as well as freelance pianist, composer, arranger and private teacher,

My fees start at $35 for 30 minute lesson.
I adjust according and give discounts to families, longer lessons, etc.

Students only need to commit monthly.
First lesson / consultation is complimentary.

Fairfax County Schools contacted me and invited me to come in for two positions that they needed a qualified person. This was in part due to my excellent experience when I first was starting out.

I have worked with children, both beginners and advanced.
I also teach beginner and advanced adults who have busy work schedules. This includes some piano teachers who asked me to teach them advanced improvisation.

Working with a physically disabled child on voice and recorder lessons. Both the child and her parents and beyond excited, not to mention my enjoyment!

Since I work with many people in the military community, I get this question often. I advise my students and families to look for these two qualities;

1. Look for a nice person; a person who will instill the love of not only piano / singing, but music and the arts in general. I show my students how music brings classical ballet to life - for example.

2. Someone who performs their craft (piano & voice) on a regular basis.

So many, it depends on the individual.
