About

http://www.milenaaradski.com/

With over six years of experience, teaching violin has been an important part of my life and music career. The love of music combined with the amazing opportunity to be able to help educate and inspire others has always been the driving force behind my decision to become a teacher. I welcome students of all ages and levels to begin their journey of mastering the art of violin playing.

Besides teaching in my home studio, and with BnB Music Lessons, and Musika Lessons, I am also delighted to be a part of the faculty at Capitol Hill Day School, Westminster School, and Music for Life organization.

My musical career started in my hometown of Belgrade, Serbia, and has lead me on a journey all around the world. After obtaining a Bachelor’s of Music degree from University of Belgrade in 2008, I received The Catherine Royce Alderson Memorial scholarship for an Artist Diploma program at the prestigious Glenn Gould School of The Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. Immediately after, in 2010 I became a recipient of The John Paul Music Scholarship for the Master of Music program at The Catholic University of America, in Washington DC, graduating in May of 2013.

Throughout my music career, I have been an active member of numerous orchestras. Starting with the University of Belgrade’s Symphony Orchestra when she performed at Belgrade’s “Kolarcev Narodni Univerzitet” Hall and Sava Centar, Royal Conservatory Orchestra when I performed in Toronto Centre for the Arts and Koerner Hall, to CUA Symphony Orchestra which brought me to Carnegie Hall.

In 2006, I toured the prestigious concert halls in Holland, Belgium, and Luxembourg, such as Concertgebouw in Amsterdam with the National Youth Orchestra of Holland. In 2007, I was accepted into Jeunesses Musicales World Orchestra (JMWO), and has since been both second violin principal and section violinist. With JMWO, now called The World Orchestra (TWO) I toured across Spain, Holland, Germany, Canada, China, Mexico, and South Africa and performed gala concerts at The Berlin Philharmonie, The Concert Hall of National Grand Theatre Beijing, Palau de les Arts in Valencia, and Auditorio National de Musica in Madrid.

Besides teaching in my private studio, I also actively play with several premier ensembles as both principal and section violinist in the Washington DC and Baltimore area. These ensembles include American Festival Pops Orchestra, Washington Concert Opera, and National Philharmonic in Washington DC, Mid-Atlantic Symphony in Baltimore and Eastern Shore, and Maryland Symphony, as well as many others.

Milena taught me everything with a firm but gentle hand, and really pushed me to be the best I could be. Her lessons were really personalized to what I was capable of, and although I hit some rough spots it was usually because of my own practice habits. All in all, I’m very glad I had her as my teacher.
