About
I am a Ballroom Instructor teaching out of Virgiia Beach, VA. My focus is on the Beginner Dancer and on Wedding Couples. My greatest delight is to watch that client walk in the door proclaiming he or she cannot dance, telling me good luck! Then, watch him dancing within 30 minutes! I have the best job ever. I get to watch people grow with something they maybe always wanted to do, but didnt think they could! I get to enjoy assisting couples get ready for the big day and that amazing First Dance they always dreamed of. I focus mainly on Waltz, Foxtrot, Rumba, Cha Cha, East Coast Swing, Hustle, and 2-step. http://baltarac.wixsite.com/dance-classes

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Each client has the opportunity to see if I am a good fit for them by taking advantage of a discounted introductory 45 minute private lesson. Following the lesson we can talk about their future dancing goals, and I can offer a variety of lesson packages that will fit thier needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been teaching Ballroom now for over 4 years in the Virginia area, and focus on the beginner dancer. My teacher training was taken in VA Beach as well.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I have standard packages of lessons. Each cient can choose between a single lesson at a time, or save some money by committing to a package of lessons. Packages range from 5 to 50 lessons. I hava an offer that will fit any client.
How did you get started teaching?
I fell in love with teaching after becomng first a zumba instructor. I found I had a certain knack for teaching. To be a good dance teacher, you need to not only be able to dance, but to teach others to dance as well. I found I had those qualities. And I have certainly fallen in love with my passion for it.
What types of students have you worked with?
I work with a LOT of Wedding couples on the First Dance. Many Dads and his daughter of the Father Daughter Dance. Mom and her son for the Mother Son Dance. I work with couples who have come into the time when the kids are grown and they now have the time and desire to do something new for themselves. Many people planning to attend a wedding that want to look better on the dance floor and just be able to have a great time dancing together. I teach all ages, and for so many different reasons, of people who want to learn to dance.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
My most recent event, and dearest to my heart, is working with a Breast Cancer survivor who was affiliated with Beyond Boobs Support for Survivors, and the big event for them, The Starlets Of Dance. These Survivors are paired with an instructor they have never met, and they step out of their comfort zone and into the world of dance. The survivors learn a choreographed dance routine and they get on stage and perform. It is an absolutely moving event. And I have been blessed enough to be one of the Instructors.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Why are you learning, or want to learn, to dance? If it is for a special event, do you have a special song chosen?
