Why should you choose the Sesek String Studio? Here are 11 reasons!

1. Proven results

Our students, age 3 to adult, learn proper technique and make a beautiful sound from the beginning.

We are highly experienced with beginners (never touched a violin), to pre-professionals (auditioning for top conservatories), and everything in between.

SSS is proud that several students from the studiohave gone on to further their musical education and have become professionals.

We have everything under one roof including violin and viola lessons, chamber music, music theory, audition prep, and college advising.

3. ACTUALLY world class teachers

The husband and wife team of the Sešek String Studio, Luka and Amber, have 5 degrees on both violin and viola between them from the world's BEST music schools including the Colburn Conservatory, Rice University's Shepherd School of Music, and Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music.

The schools the Sešeks attended are ranked #1,#7, and #8 in the entire United States according to Music School Central.

Students in the studio benefit from working with outstanding musicians that have dedicated their lives to raising the next generation of artists and global citizens.

4. Vibrant and active performing artists

Ervin Luka and Amber Archibald-Sešek regularly appear as soloists in the United States and Europe. They are invited as players and coaches with well know organizations including the Seattle Symphony and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. They have appeared with multiple chamber music societies across the country. Locally, the Sešeks coach several school orchestras.

Students in SSS get perks such as free tickets to the Seattle Symphony, first dibs to the Sešek's live shows, cash prizes and much more. (More about that below!)

5. The SSS 10 Level System

Our methodology has been tested and honed over several years. Each level has "stepping stone" benchmarks so students and parents can know where the student is in their development.

The blueprint is exclusive to the Sešek String Studio, and uses systems passed from Luka's father, violin professor of over 40 years in Europe, Armin Sešek.

The violin and viola take a lifetime to master, but a solid foundation coupled with a precise course of study, can achieve lovely results in less time.

6. Certificates, trophies and CASH PRIZES to celebrate achievements

Milestones should be celebrated! As a part of our 10 level system, students earn certificates for benchmark achievements and trophies for level achievements.

At our two annual events, our Winter and Spring concerts, we have cash prizes for two categories, "13 and under" and "14 and up".

Our most coveted prize is our annual STUDENT OF THE YEAR PRIZE awarded every June.

The winner gets a sizable cash prize and serious bragging rights!

7. A fun and warm approach

While the studio focuses on learning the violin or viola well, we also like to have fun! Lessons are engaging with lots of laughs!

Young students can count on "Ms. Amber" to make many funny faces and use her vocal talents (she has LOTS of different voices), to keep little ones coming back for more. Luka's quick quips and talent for using a hilarious form of "reverse psychology" keeps all the students on their toes.

The students of the studio can vouch for the instructors' sense of humor. ;)

8. Focus on a complete music education

As part of the curriculum, students learn new skills from day one including music theory, critical thinking, history, music terms in new languages, and body mechanics.

Students who want to be fluent in the language of music have the option of adding music theory with Dr. Archibald-Sešek as a separate lesson, therefore learning the material much faster than in group study. Dr. Archibald has 10 years of music theory teaching experience, 8 of those at Seattle University.

Students may also prepare for internationally standardized music theory exams including the Royal Conservatory of Music and ABRSM exams as well as take lessons for college entrance exams.

9. A robust community

Our students and parents are truly the best! You can count on a supportive community in the Sešek String Studio.

Events include concerts, regular studio classes, an annual picnic as well as supporting our students in their school and youth orchestra programs.

Our students both young and seasoned benefit from interaction with the other violinists and violists of the studio. Those interactions foster new friendships, healthy competition, and cross-pollination learning. Everyone wins!

10. Weekday and weekend lessons

Convenient lesson schedules Tuesday-Friday 2:00PM-10:00PM and Saturday from 9:30AM-5:30PM.

We can also accommodate earlier lesson times on weekdays for younger students, homeschoolers, retirees, or flexible working professionals.

11. In person or online

With our studio being exclusive, you do not have to worry about hundreds of hands touching common items. Since we teach only a handful of students a day (some online and some in person) your exposure to risk is minimal.

Feel good knowing that you can learn in our studios or at home and get the best education. Your comfort is of the utmost importance.

We love hearing our students improve month after month, year after year! It is the most satisfying thing in the world! The ultimate goal for our students is for them to develop and cultivate an appreciation for music. Whether it is classical, bluegrass, jazz or any other genre, it is invaluable and lasts a lifetime.
