About
I love teaching the violin and watching students grow in their musical ability and creative expression. I enjoy connecting with all kinds of people and patiently encouraging them to develop a love of music in their life and home.
I teach violin students of all ages from no experience to beginning, intermediate and advanced levels. I strive for greater playing ability in a nurturing environment while always making a beautiful sound. I start with the Suzuki method.
My music education focuses the student through immersion, encouragement, small steps, and an unforced timetable for learning material based on each student's development and ability to imitate examples and internalize principles. Regular consistent practice is required and parent involvement is encouraged for younger students. Reviewing material, position, intonation, and bow techniques to always make a beautiful sound is of primary importance.
I've recorded violin for many studio sessions including Barcelona's album "Absolutes", Rosie Thomas "These Friends of Mine", Courtney Marie Andrews "No One's Slate is Clean". I've performed live with Michael W Smith and contributed violin for Macklemore's "Can't Hold Us" music video.
