About
I am an active performer/teacher and composer. Music has been my life and profession from an early age. My goal is to challenge my students to be there best, but most importantly reach that by enjoying and loving music. I meet my students where they are and not where I expect them to be. I treat and work with my students completely individualized. Everybody is different and that includes what motivates them musically!
I love working with people and helping them reach what makes them happy. Whether it's music or life in general, we can all use help unlocking the potential we have inside of us. It is incredibly gratifying when I feel that I have helped somebody in this way!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My goal is to find what resonates and inspires my students before going into any instruction. I find that we learn much deeper and easier when we are learning about what we enjoy. I don't throw difficult exercises and standard repertoire at students just for the sake of doing them but rather to establish goals and wants and then setting the proper steps to achieve them.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My entire life has been dedicating to music, performing and teaching. It was my focus all throughout schooling and college. I have never had a job outside of music and am proud to have been able to make a living out of it.
Music has brought me all around the world and has introduced me to my wonderful peers and families/students. I don't just teach to make a living. I am actively engaged with the music community around me and want to help others in doing the same.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Yes, currently my rate is $80 an hour for lessons in which students come to me. Extra fees apply for travel. I also offer 45 and 35 minute lessons.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students from all walks of life and backgrounds. My youngest students have been about 4 years old. My oldest was a gentleman wanting to start learning piano at 94 years old!
I have worked a lot of children, teens and adults. I taught at Bellevue College for 6 years and prepared many students to go on to other institutions like Berklee College of Music, Central Washington and Cornish. I am proud to say that those students had a 100% success rate getting in!
I've also worked with adults who have had zero training and want to start at a later age. I love that!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Try to find a teacher who wants to get to know your individual needs and aspirations. Everybody is unique so I believe that every lesson should be unique as well. You shouldn't be put through book series or other programs just because they are available. The things you work on should be catered to you as an individual.
Also, teaching requires that the teacher understands how to take steps far back to help someone with something that is basic. Not every teacher can do this. If you find yourself always being frustrated and not understanding easily, perhaps a different teacher could help you more!
