Everything. His vast knowledge of the piano and technique, the way he teaches and how he teaches scales and arpeggi. He is simply the best piano teacher I have had the privilege of having lessons from. When I started lessons with him I didn’t really know how to play a C major and I did not know any theory. A couple years on I am playing pieces by Schubert, Scriabin, and Beethoven that I never thought I would be able to play. I love learning more and more and discovering that yes with his guidance and lots time spent practicing that those elusive pieces you dreamt of playing can be learnt and enjoyed. There is nothing better then hearing some your favorite music and know that your are playing that it is not coming from your IPod. In my opinion the closest one can come to time traveling playing these great pieces as these notes were written by the hand of: Mozart, Bach,Schumann, Mendelssohn, Chopin, or Tchaikovsky and here they are in front of your eyes some 200 years or more later right in front of you, a grand connection to such wondrous works.

The piano education I have been receiving from Mr. Stravinsky can be described as regular, inspiring, and personalized. His down to earth teaching style and enormous patience to me as an adult student make me believe all my dreams of piano performance are achievable.
