I am a professional pianist, vocalist and choir director and have 30+ years of experience in performance. I've been teaching private piano and voice lessons full-time since 2015. Lessons cover the fundamentals of music theory, technical and performance skills and sight reading.
My favorite styles to play/perform include jazz, standards, showtunes, pop, rock, holiday and Disney. I studied Music Education and Performance at Iowa State University, and I had the distinct privilege of studying with operatic success Simon Estes. After college, I was hand selected to sing in a choral collection at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

I really enjoyed studying with Kristen. She taught fundamentals while keeping students interest in music. Very flexible and thoughtful. It is both enlightening and fun experience for me.

I was skeptical about zoom lessons. But it actually works really well! Kristin is lovely to work with. She gives awesome recommendations for music, and is great at explaining technical elements. Best of all, shes always encouraging!
