Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I love to get to know my students before we start working together. Our first meeting is a 30-45 min Zoom chat where I learn about their past fitness/movement experience, injuries/medical conditions, lifestyle habits, specific goals, & internal motivations. If time allows, I lead them through a simple alignment and fitness assessment. This information allows me to know whether we are a good fit and if I'm the right person to help them with their goals & needs.

How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching and choreographing dance for my church's stage productions working with adults and kids as young as 2 years old. That lead to teaching group fitness classes since 2012. I primarily offer private training in Strength & Conditioning, Flexibility, Dance, & Aerial.
What types of students have you worked with?
Ages 2-75 years old, metabolic disorders, obesity, hypertension, high blood pressure, asthma, and ADHD. I've worked with various clients with goals of weight loss, muscle building, sport-specific, and overall health.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Health is the new wealth, and this is the perfect time to invest!
How your body feels, looks, and functions goes far beyond the exercises and moves that you do. The human body is very complex and each person adapts to changes uniquely. To work towards your goals, you also need to observe your overall heath including sleep, stress, nutrition, hydration, hormones, and more. It can be overwhelming to manage all on your own, but you can stay motivated towards your goals when you have the guidance and expertise of a trained professional.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are my top 3 goals?
Why do I want to achieve them?
Why are my goals important to me?
How do I relate my goals to my identity?
What do I want to get out of working with a trainer?
