About this pro

I am offering lessons to students of all ages. I teach classical violin, primarily, but also offer training in different styles such as fiddling, jazz, and pop songs. I believe in finding an approach that works best for a given student. I offer a comprehensive background in music theory and ear training.

I love watching students grow and the joy they have in performing. I love seeing what they can discover in studying music!

Eleanor is very knowledgeable, not only about violin but about music in general! She explains concepts clearly and makes adjustments for your learning style.

Eleanor is a vibrant and passionate violinist and her joy for the instrument shines through in her teaching. In particular, her interest in baroque music and applying historically informed performance practice techniques to her teaching will be invaluable for anyone looking for a well-rounded learning experience.

Eleanor is an extremely knowledgeable and dedicated teacher. I have made so much progress with her in a short time. She is patient and has helped me reach my goals and is very attentive to setting up her students with a solid technique. She is a passionate educator and is gifted with working with children. I highly recommend her.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have studied pedagogy throughout my Bachelors of Music, from Lawrence Conservatory, and my Masters in Music, from Indiana University. I have been consistently teaching privately the last three years, and coaching chamber ensembles for the past five years.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

My general rates are as follows:

30 minute lesson = $30

45 minute lesson = 45$

60 minute lesson = 60$

However, I understand that not all students can afford these prices. I am flexible in my rates, so please reach out if you are interested in lessons and we can work something out!

How did you get started teaching?

I began teaching in high school, as a chamber coach and assistant to one of my first violin teachers. I learn the most when I teach, and I love hearing the stories of what inspires my students to play.

What types of students have you worked with?

I teach all ages. I've worked with young students and adult amateurs primarily, and enjoy the process of seeing the different places in a life a student can start.
