About
I believe that music is made to illuminate the whole creation and drama of life in a way that leaves us more appreciative and thankful, brave and kind, compassionate and understanding, caring, and committed to bringing truth and kindness to our families and friends, our countries, and our environment.
I am excited to use the violin to develop artistic integrity in the lives and music of my students through a well-laid foundation in the principles of creating the best tone for a variety of expressions, a glistening intonation (quality and accuracy of pitch), a foundational rhythm, and becoming able to use a variety of tools to practice efficiently and consistently.
I encourage my students to think through their music and maximize their best effort to achieve an artistic and thoughtful presentation relevant to a variety of audiences.
I enjoy seeing my students begin to believe that greater things are possible. I also enjoy seeing them experience a combination of humility and confidence as they inspire those who listen to them share their gift.
I have been involved in teaching since I tried to help my brothers and sisters with their music as a high school student, and then teaching my daughter from the age of two, participating songs and professionally collaborating with orchestras and chamber music groups.
