Bill's Piano/keyboard Lessons
About
My primary goal is to illuminate the best path for the student to take to find fulfillment in playing piano. My lessons are much more than learning to play scales by rote - rather, every thing I teach will get the student closer to their goal.
Playing music has been a source of tremendoud joy in my life. The lessons are about teaching the student how to discover this joy in playing.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
the first 1/2 hour of the first lesson is spent learning what the students goals are. The next 1/2 hour is laying out a roadmap and giving the student a short list of resources they'll need (typically a book/books - depends on the goals and level of the student). The next lesson back and forth between me showing the student a particular technique and the student trying it, and me teaching the student how to practice it so that it will become second nature.
