What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We work with students at their pace, but always have a big picture goal that we are guiding them towards.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We all have degrees in music from top universities, including one Doctorate of Musical Arts.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
We offer 30, 45 and 60 minute lessons. Rates vary by teacher experience.
How did you get started teaching?
We have taught from a young age, then became accredited teachers, so we have many years experience in teaching.
What types of students have you worked with?
We work with students typically age 6-18 years, however, we have taught as young as 3 years old and we teach adults.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Our private students have the option of playing in a summer and Christmas orchestra together. Because of this experience, one of our 8 year old students auditioned for a competitive honors orchestra and not only get in, but is principal second violin in an orchestra filled with older students. He has great confidence in orchestra due to our summer program.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Select the highest quality instruction that you can afford. It will fast-track you to higher levels more easily and efficiently.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Personal goals, how much time they have to practice, what types of music they are interested in.
