About
Hi, I'm Melanie Roy a professional singer and voice teacher. I teach out of my custom music studio behind my house in downtown Vancouver. At your voice lesson, I will focus on technique, proper breathing, and bringing out your pure, unobstructed authentic vocal sound. I will touch upon a little music theory (range of voice, notes in the scales, how to determine song key, etc) and help you interpret the songs you pick with good phrasing and delivery of a heart felt and conceptual performance. Beginners welcome! I want to help you Find Your Voice!!
I love seeing students progress with confidence and it is so fun to watch them find and enjoy their voice!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We determine the vocal range of the student. We touch upon posture, proper breath support, open vowel sounds for unabstucted pure tone production and song style and selection
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I attended 2 private colleges studying classical, opera and Jazz voice. I won state solo contest as a junior in high school. I have been a professional singer for over 30 years
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$30/1/2 hour. Each student prepays for 4 lessons at the beginning of the month. If I need to cancel for any reason the lesson missed is refunded.
