Ava Shadmani
About
Ava Shadmani is currently pursuing a DMA in violin performance under supervision of professor David Perry at UW-Madison. As a member of Hunt String Quartet and through the Madison Symphony’s Up Close & Musical program, she makes regular visits to Dane County elementary schools introducing students to various elements of music. The Hunt Quartet also prepares multiple performances per year for the Mead Witter School of Music.
A native of Tehran, Iran, Ava, began playing violin at the age of 11. She moved to the United States in summer of 2016 to study with Professor David Salness at the University of Maryland. She received her Masters degree in spring of 2018 and was honored to be a recipient of the prestigious Smith Scholarship during her time there.
Ava is an active solo and chamber musician and has performed various concerts in her country, as well as Europe and United states.
Aside from performing, Ava is dedicated to teaching music and has taught students of all backgrounds for more than 7 years.
