Cahaba Music

Payton Williams has been teaching private guitar, bass and ukulele lessons since 1998 and is currently available to teach all levels of guitar and bass online. Payton is the owner of Cahaba Music located in Birmingham, Alabama, where he offers professional guitar and bass and ukulele instruction full time. Payton has helped hundreds of students from complete beginners to advanced levels achieve their goals.

Payton graduated from The University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1996 where he received a Bachelor of Arts and is a member of MTNA (Music Teachers National Association). Over the years he has played in numerous bands while also continuing to hone his craft as a guitarist working as a studio musician.

An expert in music instruction, Payton strives to help every student achieve their goals with a teaching style that is focused on the individual. "Helping you find your music" is his teaching philosophy. Students will gain an understanding of music theory, chord theory, scales, improvisation and ear training while learning both standards and songs they request.
