About this pro

40 + years of playing, composing, recording and teaching.  I take my time with the beginners getting them accustomed to their instrument and making it fun.  For the slightly seasoned player I challenge them to push their abilities and develop their own style.

The most eciting thing is when a student has what I call a "Lightbulb" moment.  When what we have been going over and practicing unites with the information I have been telling them.

Gary has taught my daughter on the guitar for 3 years. She enjoys her lessons and is progressing with her love of music and the guitar.

My son has done so well with learning guitar with Mr. Gary. And my little girl loved ukulele lessons with him. We highly recommend guitar lessons through him.

Two of my children take lessons from Mr. Musselman. They are both eagerly practicing and improving on their instruments!

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I start with the understanding of the instrument, the parts and the tuning.  How to hold it, etc.  and then depending on their age I go into a little theory and how it applies to the instrument.  I start them immediately with a simple exercise, which they will use for a long time, and I start them making the first common chords.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

A degree in Music and 40+ years of playng.  Worked n recording studios in Muscle Shoals, Nashville and Memphis.  Have performed with bands and as a solo act.  also take priide in my compositions.
