About
40 + years of playing, composing, recording and teaching. I take my time with the beginners getting them accustomed to their instrument and making it fun. For the slightly seasoned player I challenge them to push their abilities and develop their own style.
The most eciting thing is when a student has what I call a "Lightbulb" moment. When what we have been going over and practicing unites with the information I have been telling them.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I start with the understanding of the instrument, the parts and the tuning. How to hold it, etc. and then depending on their age I go into a little theory and how it applies to the instrument. I start them immediately with a simple exercise, which they will use for a long time, and I start them making the first common chords.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
A degree in Music and 40+ years of playng. Worked n recording studios in Muscle Shoals, Nashville and Memphis. Have performed with bands and as a solo act. also take priide in my compositions.
