About
I have been teaching guitar and bass guitar in the North Alabama area at The Fret Shop since 1985.
I took guitar lessons at age thirteen and began playing bass and singing lead vocals at age seventeen in my first band. I also studied bass at Berklee College Of Music.
Recently, I was contacted as a prospective voice teacher and began teaching voice as I am a recognized vocalist having performed in successful bands in North Alabama.
I studied under Jean Scrabble using the Vaccai voice method for about one year. As a performer, I continue to play at special events, and have performed as a guitarist, bassist, and vocalist
at restaurants, songwriter showcases, and with various bands. With 'Ground Level Sound' I performed for over fifteen years, and released four albums of original music as a contributing songwriter and singer.
I specialize in teaching favorite popular songs as well as note reading and theory to interested students.
