I love teaching piano and voice! Make it fun is my motto! One on one lessons weekly build relationships and develop talents. Ive taught piano & voice for 30+ years in Alabama, Mississippi, and now Arkansas. I have students in NYC and on Broadway .

I enjoy the children, their personalities and eagerness to learn and do well. My focus is on instilling a lifelong skill , teaching your child to love music and to express his emotions thru it.

Dawn is an outstanding music teacher. I’m “50 something” and was worried I was too old to take voice lessons or get better but I was wrong. She helped me find and increase my vocal range, breathe from my diaphragm, and instilled much more confidence than I ever had in my voice. I wanted to turn my written songs into recorded songs but lacked confidence to do that; she helped me rehearse and refine my music (and even sang backup vocals, which is over and beyond). I released a full album on 7-30-2021 and she was a huge part of getting me there. Mississippi’s loss is Arkansas’ gain. I give Dawn my highest recommendation! She’s the real deal. She genuinely cares about all her students. A si get or performer needs more than technical knowledge. You also need confidence to perform. She does “give” you that easily but makes you earn it so it is real confidence. One of the best things I ever did.

Frequently asked questions

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

We start with fingering a scale each week. We study in lesson books and have familiar songs like hymns to play and sing. Bring a notebook so we can decorate it with stickers when you pass a song! Our goal is the Recital in May. We are working towards a trophy, ribbons and medals.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Bachelors of Music in Performance from Birmingham- Southern College

My voice teachers were with NYC Opera, The Met and had a European Career. My piano teacher was Julliard trained....so i had TOP NOTCH training!!
