About this pro

I love music and I love helping others play music.  Since price is one of the top reasons most people can't take lessons, my services are guaranteed to be 10-20% lower than my competitors.

I am a lifelong musician from a long line of musicians.  My father was a guitar and trumpet player.  His father was a guitar player and singer.  I have cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends who are all musicians.  I want nothing more than to help others play too.

When it comes to experience, I have been playing piano since I was 9.  I picked up trumpet at age 12.  I have been playing guitar since age 15.  I have been competitive in band since age 14 and I have qualified for marching band, all region jazz band, concert band, and I have had top scores on every solo and ensemble through high school.

Give me a week and I will change your life with music.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

Students who like my profile should respond with their goals and interests first.

Next, the student can ask me questions about price and availability.

I schedule the first appointment.  It is easy and all payments are satisfaction guaranteed (students pay after each appointment).

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Taught by my father (introduction to trumpet and guitar).
Trained by Scott Maddox, Vilonia Band Director.
Trained by Philip Nichols, Vilonia Band Director.
Private Lesson from Taylor Brandon.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Beginner Lessons are $10 for 30 minutes (super low price so I can help all beginners).

If I travel to your home/location, I charge $0.50 per mile there and back (covers fuel and maintenance.)

Intermediate lessons are $15 for 30 minutes (I spend more time preparing for these lessons to keep things exciting).

How did you get started teaching?

I wanted to share my talents, and my first student was my younger brother, Alex.  He is now doing very well in band.

What types of students have you worked with?

I work mostly with beginners trumpet and guitar students.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

I love playing in jazz band, concert band, and marching band, but performing for small groups is amazing.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Find the teacher you love.  Learn as much as you can.  Always try out a few lessons to ensure you are a good match for the teacher.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Do I need my own instrument?

How many lessons can I schedule each week?

How long are the lessons?

Can I get a discount on lessons if I pay for six months in advance?
