About

Fueled by a passion for music, Jimmy Davis began his journey down the road to becoming a well-rounded musical talent at a young age. Jimmy honed his natural talent and built up his musical background while performing in school choirs and volunteering in church choirs. At the age of 19, Jimmy became the Seasonal Choir and Children’s Choir Coordinator at his hometown parish in Tolleson, AZ, and within two years became the coordinator of the entire music ministry program. Jimmy’s professional music career has only grown from there. Working as a musician and teaching artist, Jimmy strives to spread the healing and saving gift of music to others in all areas of life. While he continues to direct church choirs, spread the gift of music through voice and piano lessons, and host karaoke nights at local venues, Jimmy actively works to expand his own knowledge by continuous study and practice. Not forgetting the giving and altruistic nature of music, Jimmy also makes time to direct a volunteer community choir for West Side Arts that performs at fundraisers, rallies, holiday festivals, and solemn religious services. In addition he is the Director of the West Side Arts Theater Company

Jimmy Davis is currently the Assistant Music Director and Music Teacher at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and School, the Director of Jimmy Davis Music Studio, and the Chairman of the board for West Side Arts.

The greatest joy in my life is seeing my students succeed.

Mr. Davis has been teaching my son for years, he is very knowledgeable in music and gives encouragement a lot. My son gets motivated going to his piano lessons. I would highly recommend him to parents whose kids want to learn music.

    Frequently asked questions

I believe in meeting the student where they are and helping them to meet their personal goals. Not every student wants to learn classical music, not every student wants to be a performer. It is important to quickly identify what the student wants to gain from taking lessons and build on that foundation.

In addition to practical experience as a working musician and theater director, I have studied voice, piano, music theory, and theater at the collegiate level.

In addition to teaching, I am often booked as a vocalist, pianist, event host, actor, director, DJ, karaoke host or general talent.

    $200 for 4 hour lessons a month.

    $100 for 4 30 minute lessons a month

$80 for 6 week group lessons and classes

When I was 18 years old I was given my first music job directing a children’s choir at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Tolleson, AZ. Shortly after that I began teaching for the Phoenix Conservatory of Music.

I have worked with every age group from 3 years old to my oldest choir member being in her late 80’s and everything in between.

I was very excited moving into this current season for the Church choirs that I direct. My Youth Music Ministry has seen so much growth since I founded it in 2010. Our children’s choir has 57 2nd-4th graders enrolled, and my Jr High Choir has 65 5th-8th graders enrolled.  These numbers include around 20 boys in the Jr High group which is a huge accomplishment.

Find the teacher that is the right fit for you. Not every student and teacher pairing is going to work. Make sure the teacher you chose shares your vision. In my studies I have encountered a teacher who I loved Dearly l, but had differing goals for my talents. This eventually lead to a rift. It is best to have an open dialogue about your goals from the beginning.  This allows you and your instructor to set realistic, attainable goals for your lessons.

What is your personal goal?  What do you wish to gain from lessons?  What style do you wish to learn?  How much time do you really want to put into this?
