Hello future Shreders! My name is Jason Messer. I have been playing guitar since I was 8 years old, and profesionaly for 17 years. I am looking to take on a student who has a passion for learning all aspects of the guitar, and how it can be your best friend, and then your way of life. I have been in many different style of Rock bands, and have been a Feature on the Singer-Songwriters Show Case on PBS. I aim to teach everything from beginging chords and fundimentals to stage performance and songwriting!
So many thing can be unvieled by using your instrument and your talents to make new connections. I make so many friends with people i would have never met, and it all come back to Music! Plus, it's FUN!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I will get to know the new student find out what is his current passion for Guitar and where he/she wants to go with it.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My experiences on stage and in Seminars, plus many mentors down the road are the source for my eduation.
How did you get started teaching?
I was teaching my friends early on how to play their instuments, but i have taken on students one at a time for th last 10 years or so.
What types of students have you worked with?
Beginers, and amature guitarists who wanna be more performance based on stage.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.
A performer from an Open Mic I run has started writing her own songs and breaking out of her shell. Now has her 2nd album coming out!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Be ready for the Journey your instument will take you. Be ready to work hard, but also be ready for the stinkin' FUN!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are their current influences? What sort of music do you want to play. Are you ready to work hard and have FUN!?
