I play and teach Guitar, Bass, drums, latin percussion, and keyboards professionally and offer students (when ready) opportunities to play accompanied by other instruments. I help them understand how their instrument fits in the big picture in an ensemble. I focus on understanding music rather than just learning a part by rote.
I love seeing a student discover the joy of making music, and for those who wish to perform with others, I try to organize ensembles. I have formed many Student bands over the years. A couple have gone on to play and teach professionally. (Audra)

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My process is tailored to the individual student. After the first month or so I have a sense of their learning style, practice habits etc. and only then do I select the method book(s) that fit their goals and play to their strengths.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied music formally in college, and take private lessons when I can find an instructor specializing in what I seek to learn. I also majored in Psychology and have managerial experience. I am good at finding out what motivates and excites students.
