About
I provide multiple levels of teaching. What sets me apart is I let my student audition (at any level) which helps me build a specific plan to teach and get more of a fulfilling experience for my students.
My playing has spanned over 47 years in many capacities. I have played live, and in the studio professionally for 35 of those years. I have also taught in college settings, private settings, and have consulted with launching bands.
My favorite part about what I do is being able to help people that haven't picked up an instrument in their lives, be productive on guitar. Whether it's being able to sight read, or pickup popular songs from current top music, it's always gratifying to see that "Ah, that's how that works" look in their eyes.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My process is to spend a free session 20-30 minutes to get to know my student and where they are musically and where they'd like to go. This provides a good starting point and makes our time more productive in lessons.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 47 years of playing experience and 28 in teaching all levels of players. I have worked professionally as a musician in live situations as well as studio work, and helped launch players and groups into professional settings.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

How did you get started teaching?
My first guitar teacher actually suggested I start teaching after 2 years studying with her. I've enjoyed it, and take an interest in watching students succeed.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have taught class settings for beginners, intermediates and beginning adults. (you're never too old to learn). I have also taught private students at many levels, even working musicians who want to swap ideas and learn new techniques.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently co-wrote and produced a corporate jingle for a well known risk management company based out of Orlando. Working with professional musicians and studio engineers while leading a team to the end product was a great project for me. I also play professionally in 3 bands in Orlando, my passion for music is fed while providing a great musical show for patrons at festivals, public venues, and restaurants and clubs.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find a teacher that takes an interest in your progress. I've also hired teachers to show new techniques and find most times whle they're book smart, they're application suffers and they're theory while sound, put to the test, isn't ready for prime time.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I always chuckle at the question "Do you teach electric or acoustic". Both have the same 6 strings. I am a fan of starting on the acoustic guitar because it gives your hands the physical workout needed to make an easy transition to electric later one. For intermediate and advanced students, it's your choice, I assume you've learned the basics.
