I've been playing the acoustic and electric guitar for over 27 years. My passion for music and guitar has led me to disciplining myself in the art of music theory, and performing in several local bands around the country. My original influences in guitar style are rock and metal based, but as I've aged I find myself intrigued by blues, jazz, and even vintage and modern pop music. I have spent years in self taught study of music and theory, committing to daily practice excersizes in order to further my dynamics, clarity, and technique.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I have a carefully laid out lesson plan for students of all levels. Each lesson plan will be custom tailored to meet the skill level of the student. I have access to numerous backing tracks to "jam" along with and build up confidence in the student. These backing tracks are designed to make learning guitar fun. For more advanced skill levels, I can explain the theory behind the music and how to write your own chord progressions and melodies using a multitude of scales and chord changes.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an Associate in Arts degree in general education, and have taken several music courses, but currently hold no degree in music. I am almost strictly self taught, out of sheer desire and passion for guitar and music. I have disciplined myself to commit to my self studies as a life long learner. I've been playing guitar for over 27 years, while I've been stringently studying music theory for the last 7 years. I've played in a multitude of rock band throughout the country, and I am currently playing in two local bands in the Phoenix area.
How did you get started teaching?
When I left the Army I needed to supplement my income and music was the perfect choice to achieve this. I've always been passionate about music and guitar in particular, so it was an easy decision.
