Hi Im Jim, I have over thirty years of experience teaching , performing, recording and producing students of all ages, i specialize in begineers but my door is open to all levels. mainly teach voice, piano/Keyboards, guitar and bass guitar, drums and harmonca. im an award winng song writer and am about to release my next C.D. i love teaching and sharing ideas with other musicians and students.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Evaluation is the first step, correct bad habits before they begin. strengths and weaknesses. patients, patients, patients. Slow and steady first . then well learn to fly.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Ive had 20+ years of private study,with some amazing teachers and a few years in a few colleges. ive been performing on stage since i was 4 years old, everything from dancing to singing to playing various instuments. Opera to pop to metal to country, you name it i sang it.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
i usually charge $30.00 for 30-45 minutes. once a week. prefer to be payed monthly and willing to work out special deals .
How did you get started teaching?
i grew up in a performing arts studio, teaching just came natural.
What types of students have you worked with?
kids through adults, however i prefer begineers. ive worked with special needs students also.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Im fond of so many i dont know where to start.....playing with Les paul at "Rags, chicken and waffles" lol. it was fun.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
be sure to pick a teacher your confortable with, someone who can keep you focused on music when your having a bad day, someone encouraging and most of all patient. bad tempers equal bad students.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Tell the teacher what you want, what you expect, be up front. teachers love an honest student, we want to get along and bond with our students on a musical level . music is from the inside. a good teacher will find the right answers
