I love how convenient it is to take lessons with Blooming Cactus. They provide quality in-home lessons for a fair price.

Very fast response time. They were flexible with scheduling. Our son enjoys his teacher very much.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

A students first trial lesson is free. This gives the student and teacher the opportunity to learn about one another. The teacher can prepare the student for the music study experience and allows the teacher to assess the students current level of understanding.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

All of our teachers are either studying or have received a bachelors degree in music or higher. Many are performing musicians, educators and therapists.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

First lesson is free. New students receive a 10% discount on their first month of lessons. 30 minutes are $25, 45 minutes are $40 and 60 minute lessons are $50. Additional familiy members receive a 10% discount.

How did you get started teaching?

Our teachers all have different stories how they began teaching. The classic story is they started teaching their parent's friend's children and it goes from there!

What types of students have you worked with?

Ages 4- ageless

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

Our student recitals are always the highlight of the season for us!

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Find a teacher that fits your needs. If you only want to learn jazz you need a teacher won't stick you with only classical reportoire. Look for someone who cares about your technique as well as your ability to grasp music theory. These are strong deciding factors for the teaches we keep on staff.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

First, students and parents should decide why they want to take lessons. Is it for fun, for mental development or do they want to be the next Taylor Swift? When a teacher has this information they are better equipped to meet your needs.

Families should always ask about how much practice should be done each week and how to effectly practice. If a student does not practice they are wasting their money. Their education is more in their hands than their teachers.
