Our student recitals are always the highlight of the season for us!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find a teacher that fits your needs. If you only want to learn jazz you need a teacher won't stick you with only classical reportoire. Look for someone who cares about your technique as well as your ability to grasp music theory. These are strong deciding factors for the teaches we keep on staff.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
First, students and parents should decide why they want to take lessons. Is it for fun, for mental development or do they want to be the next Taylor Swift? When a teacher has this information they are better equipped to meet your needs.
Families should always ask about how much practice should be done each week and how to effectly practice. If a student does not practice they are wasting their money. Their education is more in their hands than their teachers.
