About
We teach real world self-defense, based on the art of Taijutsu. This includes stand up, ground, weapons, and weapons defense techniques. We don't focus on just one area, because in a self defense situation, you can never be sure what will happen.
We have the only two instructors in the state of Arizona to have trained with both Black Belt hall of fame member Stephen K Hayes and Master John Poliquin, and are the only Discovery Martial arts affiliated school in the state as well.
While we teach a serious subject, we like to do it in a fun, friendly atmosphere. There are no "Belt egos" here.
The fact that our students walk out the very first night with an actual start to finish self-defense technique that they could use in the real world to protect themselves and their family

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
New students typically work directly with one of the black belt instructors during the first several classes, just to make sure they are comfortable.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Each of the instructors is a second-degree or third-degree black belt, all are certified instructors by the discovery defense schools, all of them have first aid and CPR training, and each one has a minimum of five years certification as an instructor. Between the 3 senior instructors, we have close to 25 years teaching this art.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Classes run $90 per student, for in person, which allows the student unlimited access to all eight scheduled classes per month. We have a family discount of 5% off the total tuition amount for two students, or 10% off for three students, and 15% off if there are four or more students. We also offer a discount for First responders, medical providers, and teachers
How did you get started teaching?
I had actually followed this system since I was in junior high school way back in the 1980s. I never had the opportunity to train in the system until moving to Arizona. After obtaining my first-degree black belt hi, like the other two instructors wanted to be able to not only advance but help others learn this valuable system self-defense.
What types of students have you worked with?
We have work from children as young as five years old, two as old as 70 years old
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
We are most happy with the opening of this new school in the Chandler Gilbert area, and we are excited about growing it from the current level of students to a much larger level in order to provide more people the skills necessary to feel confident in being able to defend themselves in today's sometimes frightening world.
