About
Grace Newberry Voice Teacher and Beginning Piano Teacher
I currently teach voice and piano at a local music studio and am looking to branch out and teach privately as well.
OBJECTIVE: To share my passion and experience with students through private voice lessons, helping them to find more ease and facility in singing.
EDUCATION:
University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, Masters of Music in Vocal Performance, 2017
Oberlin Conservatory of Music, Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance, 2012
RELATED EXPERIENCE: Private voice teacher 2012-14 and 2017-18
Moorpark CA and Cincinnati OH
• Taught weekly 60 minute private voice lessons to my small studio of students. Structure lessons around each student’s technical needs.
• Work mainly with three teaching principles: released breath, pure vowels, engaged but flexible support. Also emphasizing the importance and use of language to communicate deep meaning.
• Maintained teaching principles mentioned above and often prepared students for
various auditions, competitions and performances.
I love to bring the gift of music to my students. It is such a joy to watch my students learn and watch them improve from week to week achieving their goals. My passion for music runs deep and I try to instill a similar love for it in my students.
