Hey there!

Modern Music School started in 1987 in Germany and we have more than 80 schools wordwide. My name is Ulf Geist and I'm the owner of MMS in Pasadena. I grew up in the MMS system in Germany and participated in all programs MMS offers as a student and as a teacher in multiple locations before I became the owner here in Pasadena.

We offer private lessons, group lessons and band classes and we stand out because our teachers and myself are not only professional musicians, but also constantly improve our teaching skills in our MMS teacher seminars to give our teachers the tools you need to become a great teacher. For example understanding the different learning types and how to teach differently to each of them.

Being a great performer does not mean you are a great teacher. Having a college degree in music also doesn't make you a great teacher. We focus exactly on that to close that gap to make all our teachers the best coaches they can become. We believe that is the reason why MMS has grown so much over the past years. I love every single part of it. It is the most rewarding job in the world when we see our students grow up and learn and become better musicians.

We have many adult students as well and seeing an adult that always wanted to learn how to play their favorite songs finally learns how to play them, is an incredible feeling.
