Riad T. says, "It was very productive to work with Peter. One of the things that we were focused was to work on chiaro-scuro that now works very good as an idea and in practice. Also the legato and breath-support. He does pay a lot of attention to those things, and I think that's the key to a beautiful singing. I'm thankful for that! So far, Peter is certainly on of the best I've been able to work with. " Read more

Voice/singing development based upon functional principles of vocal mechanics. I love combining the analysis and "prescription" in figuring out how to build various voices and impart knowledge of vocal mechanics with students.

Shin Yen H. says, "I had a wonderful time with Natalia. As a 26 year old wanting to take songwriting seriously. She provided me many exercises to activate my creativity. Together in the 6 months we were together we’ve written ~10 quality songs. What I really like about about Natalia is the investment in me as an artist and what I want and need out of class. Having tried a few songwriting teachers, i know she has this rare quality. " Read more

Julian I. says, "There must be something wrong with this part of the review process because I try to give five stars, but for some reason it only shows four. Logan is a consummate professional, and he is an amazing teacher. There are people who really know how to do something, but it’s hard for them to teach it, whereas Logan is an amazing musician, and he is great at distilling the important parts of music and singing. I feel so happy I found him. What are my favorite quotes is “stay true to your purpose and the universe will conspire to give you what you need,“ I have been wanting to learn how to sing for a long time, and despite being persuaded not to, we’re not always supported my friends and family, I did it anyway, and the universe responded by giving me Logan. Anyone wanting to learn music or singing, or both, Logan is unequalled and second to none, choose him with confidence, you will be happier for it." Read more

They offer in-person and online lessons which is great for us because sometimes we can't make it in person. Overall I would strongly recommend this studio to anyone looking for high-quality music lessons for their child. And I think they alsoteach adult students." Read more

Your Singing Lessons questions, answered

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Lessons.

Singing lessons cost $50 to $100 per hour on average. Prices vary depending on the teacher's location, experience, reputation, and whether you're taking a private or group lesson. Group lessons typically cost less per person than private lessons, but you may not get as much personal attention and feedback in a group setting.

  • Some singing teachers charge a flat rate for a specified increment of time, typically in 30-minute, 45-minute, or 60-minute increments.
  • Many coaches offer package deals to purchase 2 to 10+ lessons at a time and reduce the cost per lesson.

Singing lessons won't change your sound completely, but they can help improve your sound by strengthening your vocal cords and improving your range and tone.

Singing lessons involve more than just your voice. A vocal coach will teach you how to hold and improve your posture, which gives your diaphragm optimal room to expand. You also learn proper breathing techniques and how to use your breath to improve your tone. Singing lessons also help you improve your diction—the way you articulate your words when singing—as well as your ability to match specific pitches.

Yes, adults can absolutely take singing lessons. While starting singing lessons at a young age gives you more time to develop your voice, it's never too late to begin learning and improve your singing voice.

Follow these guidelines to help you choose the best singing lessons near you:

  • Check out their reviews on Lessons.com and Google.
  • Get at least three estimates from teachers with similar credentials.
  • Ask for recommendations from others in the local music community.
  • Do a trial meeting or lesson if possible with several teachers to find the best fit for your goals.
  • Ask them about their training and credentials.
  • Ask about what specific methods and techniques they teach.
  • Ask about the specific progress they've made with other students.
  • Make sure their schedule matches your availability.

Ask these questions to help you choose the best singing teacher for you:

  • How long have you been teaching singing?
  • Can you share any success stories?
  • Do I need to have a good voice already to become a better singer?
  • How long does it typically take to see improvement?
  • Do you offer any package deals?
  • What is your teaching schedule?
  • How long are your singing lessons?
  • How often should I practice?
  • Do you offer private or group lessons?
  • Where do you teach?
  • Do you offer online lessons using video calling?

I participated in Peter Mark's masterclasses, and he is a real professional who cares about his students. No matter what level of voice you have, or where you are currently in your training, he will help to get the best out of you. He has great intuition about how to handle singers and really gives 100% of his energy in coaching. I greatly appreciate him working with me and consider it a great honor to have been allowed to participate in these classes.

Logan bent over backwards to help my daughter have success. He taught her all the techniques and skills of pop singing he has learned over his experience in the music field. He also was able to prepare her for a professional recording which he spent hours on making her sound her optimal best. It really boost her confidence to know she could sing so well. He was very positive and understanding of her insecurities yet challenged her to push through them. Logan is a very talented musician not only vocally but also technologically. He has great professional recording skills and experience as well which help magnify his students talents beyond their vocal training. He was always so positive and wonderful to work with

There're many music teachers and schools around but trust me - you want your child to be in Ivan's class. My daughter has been taking piano lessons with him since 2016 and to say that she tremendously improved her piano skills is one thing. There's so much more. My husband and I don't know much about music, but we always thought it's important for a child's development to play an instrument so we found her a piano teacher when she was 6. Unfortunately, she soon lost interest and would even say that she hated it. She stopped for a year and then our friends recommended Ivan's lessons. It was a turning point! She grew to love music - from hating to not-liking, to liking, to loving! Ivan seems to be diverse and approaches his students depending on their character. He's not just a great music teacher - he's like a psychologist too! I know I'm being wordy here but he deserves much more. If you're his student/a parent of his student, you know why you are in his class. Don't be shy, spread the word! Teachers like Ivan should be known.

Marie is very good at understanding the needs of her students. She has helped me complete the music courses required for a degree in music. She knows exactly what to do, and how to do it. She’s very professional. She never stops encouraging me. She is kind, and very inspirational.
