I have been training singers successfully for over 10 years in Burbank and I conference with singers all over the country and in Europe!

I am a Graduate of Azusa Pacific University, a signed recording Artist. I charted my first billboard hit last year and an album to follow this year. I am about to publish my first book on my voice training system LET THE VOICE OUT! A powerful yet practice approach to voice training that teaches anyone to sing and for pro-singers to improve!

Lets just start with the important bit: I think April is an excellent

voice teacher. Briefly, she has guided me from zero to singing in a

few short months

I had no experience or talent for singing when I started with April

about 5 months ago, but I wanted to find out if I could at least sing

a little, with some training. It looks like I am going to be able to

do that, but with better technique and with a greater variety of music

than I originally thought possible. She has helped me with the basics

of singing in tune, breathing, building power, control, and clarity in

my chest and head voice, and extending my range higher. Her

lessons and exercises are targeted toward developing the vocal

technique without a lot of extra, possibly confusing stuff - which

works very well with me, and I imagine a lot of other people too.

Singing for me is very difficult, and April has also been very

supportive and relentlessly encouraging. But itt not just words -

this has happened many times: Shell hear something and say Thats

coming soon, and Ill think Yeah, right--and in a few days or

weeks, there it is. Shes right. Again.

April has been doing this for a while, and her experience and teaching

technique are effective. We are now deep in finding my mix voice, and

connecting chest and head registers, two of the most important parts

of building a real vocal technique. Im not there yet, but April says

its not gonna be too long. I believe her.

April is great!! My son has been in show choir for 3 years and It was my son’s first private lesson outside of choir. He has been struggling, having a hard time reaching some of the high notes and running out of air. April was able to identify the problem on his first lesson and explained it so well to him that he finally figured it out. She helped Noah how to improve and he was so excited about recognizing his mix voice. He couldn’t stop singing the songs he was having trouble with or scared to sing, it was like night and day. She also has great vocal exercises online for easy access from anywhere. Noah is excited and is looking forward to his next lesson!!! I also love the fact that she is nearby. Thanks April for giving him his confident back in singing those hard to reach note. I don’t know why I’d didn’t see a vocal coach for him sooner.

Its a very enriching experience! She taught me the importance of a properly supported, full voice with breath control that allows you to sing the songs best. There are vocal exercises to practice between lessons and showcases to really gain performance experience. Really, its everything you want to move forward.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I get to know where the student comes from. Are you an experienced singer looking to go to higher levels or training? Or are you a beginner and wondering how this all works?

Then we begin some vocal technique, introducing beginners and finding out where the pros need to brush up on!

Then we make a song list. I like my students to be inspired to practice and enjoy the process. I like to see what you prefer first, what types of songs you prefer then I will make recommendations.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am a graduate of Azusa Pacific University in Vocal Performance. I am a professional singer and signed recording artist. I charted my first Billboard Hit and have another coming along with the release of my new album this year.

I am also finishing my book on my Voice Training System which will teach EVERYONE to sing. Yes everyone!
