My policy is to try a first lesson and see if it is a good fit, with no further commitment. I have been teaching piano for over 25 years. I have composed music for film and television, released three CD's of music and toured as a professional pop musician, as well as performed in musical theater. Music is my life, and I bring that passion to my students. I provide a total experience with a little music theory, easy songs that build confidence, and lots of encouragement. please check out... http://www.pianowithkarl.com/

I love seeing each student come into their own, and never get tired of watching them grow musically!

I have always been involved with music. A friend and I started writing songs at age 10. I finally started teaching piano at age 21, but took a break to tour and compose more music for television, then returned to some teachig at age 30.

My students have ranged from age 5 to 75! From beginners to very advanced, from Pop to classical, jazz and Blues players. Some of my students have gone on to form their own bands and become music teachers themselves!

One of my students was offered a recording contract. Every year I hold a piano recital woth a wonderful co-teacher and friend. The tone of our recitals is very supportive, and NOT competetive. We have singers, composers, improvisers, duets and additional instruments participating. I am SO proud and moved to see their work!
