I offer guitar lessons and vocal lessons, teaching fundamental exercises to help develop your special talents and gifts! I also encourage each student to perform material that he/she enjoys singing or playing, while implementing formal, fundamental techniques.

I have a Bachelor of Music Degree from Butler University (Indianapolis, IN) in Music Business. I continue to perform in bands and continue to record my music as a singer/songwriter.

I enjoy seeing my students gain confidence in their abilities as we begin to work together. It's also important for me that the student has lots of fun learning their instrument and how to improve it, giving them more confidence!

Vonnie has been great! She makes learning the guitar a wonderful experience for our son. Vonnie encourages and teaches in a way that really connects with him. She involves our son in the learning process by asking him to suggest songs that he wants to learn. He looks forward to his lesson each week!

Frequently asked questions

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

With any new student, I try to ask a lot of questions regarding the student's goals and objectives, what songs or type of music they would like to learn to sing/play, what time frame they may have in mind to accomplish certain goals (e.g., preparing for an important audition at school, working towards a personal/performance goal). I also give the student a quick overview of how the lessons will go (e.g., stretches, scales, posture, etc.)

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a Bachelor of Music in Music Business from Butler University, Indianapolis, IN. I have been singing since I was a kid, and have been playing guitar for about 20 years now.

I have recorded three CD's containing original songs that I have written. I love playing and singing music!!

I charge $35 for 1/2 Hour, $50 for 45 minutes, or $60 for 1 Hour.

How did you get started teaching?

I have always loved passing along what I have learned in the hope that it may benefit others the way my instructors have benefited and blessed me.

I work with students of all ages. I have adult students as well as children as young as 7years old.
