Patrick really knows music. I’m impressed with how well he’s able to transfer his knowledge of music theory to me, and helps me with technique. He not only is an awesome guitar player, but he’s an awesome teacher.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

First step would be to find the student's interests and goals. Do they have experience playing? Do they read standard notation? Do they know a few chords?

A lot of questions are asked and then a good lesson program to fit their needs would be in order.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I've been playing guitar since 1974 and have taught since 1980. I started LearnGuitare in 2006 and currently am a contracted teacher for the City Of Chino Hills CA Recreation Division since 2002.

I've studied music theory and business management at Mt. San Antonio College and continue my studies privately.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

We meet once a week and tuition is paid on a month to month basis, based on the number of lesson days in a particular month.

30 minute lessons are $35

45 minute lessons are $52.50

60 minute lessons are $70

How did you get started teaching?

I started in my high school days with people I knew who wanted to learn to play. They had seen me play and perform and wanted me to teach them.

I taught at their homes and eventually taught in a few local music stores.

After a while, I got my own studio and work from there.

What types of students have you worked with?

All kinds...all ages and skill levels.

Young beginners , ages 5-8, kids 9-12, teens 13 and up. Adults of all ages.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Give me a call, set up a trial lesson and let's talk!
