About

The thing I like the most about training people is seeing their growth. Not as fighters, but as people. I like the way their new physical prowess manifests itself in their speech, movement, attitude, and their personalities. It's like they change into a better, freer version of themselves.

Coach Julian is a martial arts encyclopedia; he is well-versed in all forms of combat sports. He is very patient when teaching, and makes his class time fun, yet informative. I highly recommend taking a course with Julian.

Really takes time to teach you technique. Also brings humor to the workouts. 10/10 would recommend to anyone willing to learn.

    Frequently asked questions

I always start out with some jump rope and some shadowboxing to get an understanding of where they are with their fitness and technical ability. Then we move on to techniques, drills, and exercises designed to help them improve quickly and efficiently.
I've trained and been teaching boxing and kickboxing for 20 years. I'm a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I'm a former Heavyweight Cage Fighting Champion in Total Fighting Alliance. I've also trained in Krav Maga, Haganah, and Kali for over 10 years.
Sessions Last an Hour and cost $100/session. Payment is made when you book the session and there is a 24/hour cancelation policy. You can book up to 10 sessions in advance to lock in your time slot.
I got started teaching while I was cage fighting. My trainer left the gym we were training at to help open a new gym and so he transferred his clients from the old gym to me. I've been training people ever since.
All kinds, from beginners to advanced. Fighters to weekend warriors. My youngest client ever was 9 and my oldest was 68. I've worked with uncoordinated people as well as athletes.
We just held a membership appreciation event at the gym where we allowed our guys and girls to step into the cage and compete against one another and get a feel for where they're truly at in their training. It was a great event, and all the competitors were excited and nervous. But for me, I think the best part was how happy and accomplished they felt after doing it. They were so excited to get back to training to fix their mistakes and keep growing.
I would say do your research. Make sure you're getting someone who knows what they're doing and not just a good salesman. Know that it takes time and effort to get good at anything so be patient, with yourself. Figure out if you just want to sweat or if you actually want to learn to fight/defend yourself and let your trainer know so he/she can adjust your sessions accordingly. Also, you can change trainers. Every trainer isn't compatible with every student so make sure you take the time to find someone that's right for you.
Students should figure out their schedule and what times they have available to train. They should have some idea of what they want out of their sessions. They should also know that they're going to have to work hard if they want to reach their goals. And they should plan their budget. Realistically, if you want to see improvement, in any area, you're looking at training at least 3+ times a week. Your body is the only thing you will definitely have for the rest of your life. It's not can you afford it, it's how can you not.
