What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I ask if they have any prior experience in playing. If they dont I start with teaching simple counts (quarter, half, dotted half, and whole note) and middle C. If the student has been with another teacher prior to me I would look at where they left off then try and continue from there.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
How did you get started teaching?
I got started teaching in highschool when I was having trouble finding my first job. I posted an advertisement on a neighborhood website and my own business took off after that.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all kinds of students of all ages. The youngest I have worked with was 3 years old and the oldest was 35 years old. I have also worked with a student with Down syndrome, another with autism, and I have several with ADHD. As long as a student is willing to try and enjoys it I will teach them.
