He helps you learn the science behind vocal. He has completely inspired my daughter to bring about the best vocal qualities.
Bruce has helped me so much with my confidence, especially with my upper range and mixed voice. Whenever I think I can't do something vocally, he encourages me to try anyway. He is the best at explaining how to get what I want from my voice. Bruce is an amazing vocal coach, I always look so forward to my voice lessons!
Sac Valley Vocals/ Walton Academy is a very student friendly environment. My son learned a lot from Mr. Bruce on how to sing. Highly recommended Voice Studio!
Bruce is very experienced Vocal Teacher. His techniques really helped my vocal quality and now I sing more freely. His lessons are very detailed and student oriented. He is the "BEST" vocal teacher in Elk Grove.
The first lesson is no charge.
In that Lesson, we spend the first few minutes getting to know each other and get an idea for the Singer's goals.
Next, we Sing!
I want to hear the students voice and get an idea of their range.
Then we go over some basic breathing and singing techniques to give the student something to work on with a song of their choice. (Afterall, there is nothing worse than leaving a lesson with nothing to work with)
My Goal is to help you find Your Voice!
I studied Voice and Music Education at UOP's Conservatory of Music.
I completed my college music studies at CSU Sacramento concentrating in Voice Performance/ Pedagogy and Music Education.
I studied Voice with many Teachers over the year in the "Bel Canto" (Classical) tradition and also Contemporary styles since 1983.
I developed my own teaching method for students that draws from my over 35 years of Lessons, Teaching and performance experiences. My method uses both Classical and Contemporary techniques and is presented in an easy to follow system that uses common language and common sense.

I started teaching while studying voice in college back in the 90's to pay for my own lessons.
Since then, I've always been invoved to some degree of voice teaching and coaching while performing myself.
I enjoy teaching and watching students perform even more than I enjoyed performing myself.
I work with all levels and ages of singers.
Children, Teens and Adults.
I work with "Special Needs" students (I have a special needs child myself, so I get it!)
I have several students that perform semi-professionally and professionally. One of my students placed 2nd in an International Chinese Cultural Voice competition (2nd place out of thousands).
Ask the teacher/coach who they study with themselves.
There are many "Voice Teachers" and "Vocal Coaches" out there that have no real understanding of teaching or how the human vocal system really works.
If the teacher's only experience is "singing in choir" or singing in a band or as a soloist, then you should really reconsider who you are hiring. The voice is a delicate system that can easily be damaged.
