I offer a personal and authentic approach to music.
It is so important that others enjoy playing and making it, that my goal is to help pass on my knowledge so that they too can have a strong, lifelong relationship for music.
I have a profound respect for music; as an art form, a form of healing and therapy, and as a means of communication and expression.
In understanding even the most advanced forms of music theory, composition, songwriting and instrumentation, we must also understand the cultures and contexts from which these art forms emerge.
I, Colin, come from a musical lineage. My family and I have been involved with songwriters and musicians from Frank Sinatra, Jose Feliciano, the Grateful Dead, Carlos Santana. My love and respect for music is deep and I am willing to share with all who wish to receive it.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Firstly, I understand the goals and motivations of the student, so that I can best serve in helping them on their path.
From there, it's important to assess their technique and abilities, as well as their knowledge of the theory and instrument. Then, we develop a path forward.
