What is your typical process for working with a new student?

As a first step we evaluate the students' experience level and abilities. We start them into group classes working with them one on one in order to guide them through the fundamental techniques, integrating them into the full routine as they become more comfortable with their technical abilities.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Our instructors are all certified by the major governing bodies of Jiu-Jitsu (listed Below) and required to be background checked to ensure our students receive the best and safest instruction.

IBJJF (International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation)

USBJJF (United States Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation)

FJJR (Rio De Janeiro, Brazil Federation of Jiu-Jitsu)

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

The most important thing is finding the martial art type that is right for you, an academy that is acredited to teach your desired style of martial art and an environment that you feel comfortable and welcomed in.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

What their goals are, what they are looking to accomplish, the type of academy that would best fit their personality/ preference. This way your questions can be geared towards finding the place that is right for you!
