Founded by Grand Master Carlos Gracie, the Gracie Family has been spreading jiu-jitsu all over the world since 1925. We pride ourselves in empowering individuals by teaching them to effectively and efficiently protect themselves. Our biggest joy comes from teaching our family's art and seeing our students gaining confidence, discipline, and physical ability while having fun learinig in a safe environment!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
As a first step we evaluate the students' experience level and abilities. We start them into group classes working with them one on one in order to guide them through the fundamental techniques, integrating them into the full routine as they become more comfortable with their technical abilities.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our instructors are all certified by the major governing bodies of Jiu-Jitsu (listed Below) and required to be background checked to ensure our students receive the best and safest instruction.

How did you get started teaching?
Our family founded Gracie/ Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, it has always been a family passion and tradition passed down from generation to generation. My father began teaching at a young age and I followed in his footsteps.
What types of students have you worked with?
Our mission is Jiu-Jitsu for everyone. We pride ourselves in fostering a safe and welcoming environment that encourages anyone regardles of age or physical ability to participate. We work with youth and adults students of widely ranged ages and abilities from all different types of professions and walks of life.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
There are several professional jiu-jitsu competitions I enjoy.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
The most important thing is finding the martial art type that is right for you, an academy that is acredited to teach your desired style of martial art and an environment that you feel comfortable and welcomed in.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What their goals are, what they are looking to accomplish, the type of academy that would best fit their personality/ preference. This way your questions can be geared towards finding the place that is right for you!
