About
I graduated from California State University, Fresno with a Bachelor of Arts in Jazz Piano Performance. Then, I received a Master of Music from Colorado State University specializing in Music Therapy and have been a credentialed board certified music therapist since 2018.
For 12 years, I have been teaching piano lessons privately to students of all ages. I enjoy helping my students find satisfaction in not only learning to play piano, but in overcoming mental obstacles which come from learning something new. I will work with you toward meeting your musical goals, whether that is to play your favorite Beethoven piece, learn to play jazz standards, or learn to play songs your favorite songs!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I find it works best to have a conversation with the student or their parent to understand the students goals before lessons begin. From there, we will determine which book(s)/music curriculum will be best to help the student reach their goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Bachelor of Arts in Jazz Piano Performance, Master of Music specializing in Music Therapy
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching when I was studying music in college and fell in love with it.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students of all ages, from age 5-85. Some have had previous piano experience, but for many, it was their first time learning to play an instrument. It is never too late to learn something new!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Feel free to ask as many questions as you'd like!
