About
I have been producing award winning students for over 40 years.I do take pride in the great progress brought about by public performances!
I love working with all ages and levels. Watching students advance from the beginning stages to advanced performers fills me and their families with great pride. Adults who are patient with the learning process can also be quite fun.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I slowly get to know what makes the student tick and all about their goals. I learn about their working habits and how much practice time they have. I love getting to know the students thinking process and learning together at times.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received my education at Juilliard School of Music and have taught students of all levels for over 30 years. Students have won many awards and have been accepted to college music degree programs all over the country.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching while I was still attending Juilliard. Once I was back in California I continued building my class I loved teaching right away and students began winning awards right away.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with children from beginners to advanced. Some students learn to love their music. Some come to love their lesson time. Some will keep music in their lives forever, and some actually major in music.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
My students have filled me with pride on a regular basis because of their many awards. My last advanced student wrote her college acceptance essay about her time spent with me and all she had learned from her lessons She was accepted into Princeton with that essay.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Be sure the teacher is talented enough to play some of the repertoire you are working on. They must be able to touch your soul with their teaching.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
It is up to the teacher to learn about the student and must be genuinely interested in your goals.
