What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I get to know them as a person and their fundamental understanding of music and where they wish to go with it and customize my approach accordingly. Such as a student trying to get into CSUN on piano I treated as a standard piano teacher with all the standard approaches such as classical repertoire and finger exercises, but a student doing it for the love of music would be a play it as you go style and just have fun learning music in a tangential manner.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
An Associate of Arts in Music and currently studying at SFCM in Technology and Applied Composition, though everything has been put online for this year so I'm not currently in San Francisco.
