My studio specializes in the learning of popular songs! I teach my students the art of learning how to play by ear(transcribing). I have hundreds of hand written music charts that I share with my students.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
In our first class we discuss goals and the kind of music you are most interested in learning. If a student is a begginner, we tackle basic music fundamentals in very first session

What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with many celebreties and those in the entertainment business, including Saban Entertainment, 20th Century Fox, and Sony. My students have gone on to be in popular bands in LA. Many of my students had received scholarships to highly respected universities such as NYU and Berklee College of Music.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find a teacher that can quickly figure out how you the student best learns things and then teaches you in that particular way. Also, find the music that the student is excited to learn. A balance of traditional music and popular music I find is ideal.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
A student has to be ready to make a time commitment to music. It is required and the only way one can learn is to work at it consistently.
