What is your typical process for working with a new student?
1) I would see where they are at in their playing
2) I would help them develop their craft by creating exercises to help them improve on their skill
3) Have perform to songs they are familiar with to help them with their playing
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $30 for an 1/2 an hour. The student will meet with me for an 1/2 hour once a week. I believe in "Spoon Feeding" the lesson in bits, It helps with discipline and focus. I am slight perfectionist, So I want them to get the lesson right.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching in 2000 as extra income. The students I taught began to "Pick At My Brain" which lead them to expand in their playing. I hadn't taught in years, so I've giving it another go around.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've work with mainly a lot of MetalHead Teens, who wanted to play Metal.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
In 2015, My band had got the priviledge to open up for an old Metal Band that my drummer and I grew up on, at a famous Rock Venue that's been a Rock Hallmark. We never got over the experience of that night.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
if Guitar is something you got into because your friends got into it, felt that being in a band was cool, or having a guitar is going to "Get You Chicks", then you're playing guitar for all the wrong reasons.
If you have a connection with your guitar and want to make it a part on your life? Here is some advise:
1) Come hungry to learn
2) Be teachable
3) Take constructive criticism
4) It's ok to pick at the teaher's brain
5) Apply what you learned
