What is your typical process for working with a new student?

First I have a quick test to check clearly what are the student possibilities, habilities and challenging areas. From there I assess and determine which exercises will be convinient and choose repertoire with the student.


What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I studied in Mexico city and also in Torrance CA. I have toured all the US and Virgin Islands. This is my job, I am a full time musician and proudly I can say I am succesful at what i do.

Currently I am at $45 per hour at my studio.


How did you get started teaching?

Long time ago in Mexico city, I was offered a job at a elementary school.


What types of students have you worked with?

I teach from very young people to seniors. There is no limits when anyone decides to learn.


Describe a recent event you are fond of.

We broke a Guiness Record !  Most mariachis serenade, done here in Los Angeles.


What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

To look for the teacher credentials.


What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

How flexible is the schedule and how reliable are they.
